Optical Augmentation though Sound
My final year project. An academic paper consisting of 12,000 words with an artefact. Seemingly a difficult task, but my passion for my research questions were certainly enthralling enough to challenge my academic mind and maintain my interest for over two years.
Can optical illusions be moved with sound? A scientific approach to furthering our understanding of audio-visual correspondences whilst pioneering the means of an entirely new audio-visual experience.

The McGurk effect. Investigating the effect of physical gestures on music perception.
Based in the Bridge Collaboration space at UWE, in a research internship, I was tasked with sourcing and ideating a HCI project for publish.
My research involved literature reviewing, prototyping studies with the MiMu gloves, creating necessary assets and finally creating a user-study test in Unity.
As well as a great insight into the world of HCI research, I also took great joy in the projects of my colleagues of the Bristol Robotics Laboratory where I witnessed the exciting world of future technologies.
